Fluvanna eighth grader Kayla Corredera-Wells will be competing next week in the Scripps National Spelling Bee with 278 other spellers from across the country.  She’s officially speller number 256.  You can watch her live on ESPN3 on Wednesday, May 30 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Children from St. James Street Children’s Church in Columbia visited Envoy at the Village

Children from St. James Street Children’s Church in Columbia visited Envoy at the Village on April 29.  They sang several songs, did a skit, passed out gifts, and shared lots of hugs with the residents during the Sunday service.  Both kids and residents had a great time. Fluvanna Master Gardeners toured the iris garden at Thomas Jefferson Center for Historic Plants  on May 10.  Twelve volunteers armed with new knowledge of all things plants celebrated their graduation to Master Gardener intern status Thursday (May 10).
The group gathered with bona fide Fluvanna Master Gardener’s at Tufton Farm, the Thomas Jefferson Center for Historic Plants, for a tour and lunch in the garden. Add a comment

“The Choraleers are a unique group of twenty dedicated singers with a variety of musical talents, and all are very much into our overall mission of bringing music to our older citizens. In our midst we have excellent vocal and instrumental soloists,” said Kurt Dunklee, choral director and former director of the Fluvanna Community Singers. Dunklee explains the history behind this little group of devoted musical performers.
