Center head Lisa BaileyThe Piedmont Crossroads Visitors Center is likely one of the area’s best-kept secrets, but it shouldn’t be! It’s smart and professional and showcases what’s available in Fluvanna, Louisa and Orange counties, as well as highlighting tourism spots in the region.

The center is located at exit 136 on U.S. 64 (Zion Crossroads) in the Best Western. There’s plenty of signage on that highway, but unlike many accommodations at exits, Best Western is in a business park across from Walmart making its entrance from Rt. 33 less obvious.

Proposed townhomesRepresentatives of Walker’s Ridge, a proposed planned community on Rt. 15, presented details at a Fluvanna Planning Department Neighborhood Meeting Wednesday (Sept. 12).

The community is on the same site as the now-defunct Rivanna Resort and Golf Club adjacent to Camp Friendship.
