Released 11/24/09

Reading during the service were Vito Adotta (l), Auxiliary President Polly Eaton,  Scout  Tim Novak Troop 138, Fritz Dietz, Jim Cullinan, Cdr Gary Kuhns, Paula Soukup, Joanne Addotta and VFW Cdr Lew Farrish.

Due to miserable weather, Fluvanna County's past, present and future veterans were honored Veterans Day at a modified ceremony on November 11.

Spectators and members of the Fluvanna County American Legion, Knights of Columbus Assembly 2518, Scottsville Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fluvanna Ruritan, Scout Troop 138 and FCHS Beta Club gathered at the American Legion Post in Fork Union to honor veterans and those serving today.  Tim Novak of Troop 138 lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance followed by singing America and the Star Bangled Banner. Wreaths were laid by the American Legion VFW Auxiliary and the Beta Club.  After the ceremony, participants and spectators were invited to join the American Legion for snacks.

Later in the afternoon, the VFW and others visited the nursing home in Fork Union to visit vets.
