The Fluvanna County Board of Supervisors will have some new faces after election results were announced.
Joe Chesser, who ran unopposed, will represent the Rivanna District following Charles Allbaugh stepping out of the race. Shaun Kenney defeated presiding Supervisor Marvin Moss by a vote of 544 to 506. Donald Weaver will return for another term after defeating Keith Smith 949 to 315.
School Board election results seated Doug Johnson who received 650 votes, while his opponent Rennie Searcy received 525 votes in the Cunningham District. Incumbent Vivian Leach will not return to the Rivanna District School Board after her opponent D. Brian Phillips received 723 more votes. Camilla Washington ran unopposed and will represent the Columbia District.
In state news, Republican Robert F. “Bob” McDonnell beat R. Creigh Deeds to be the next Governor of Virginia. Ken T. Cuccinelli II beat Stephen C. Shannon for the Attorney General post and William T. “Bill”Bolling will return to his Lieutentant Governor position after beating Jody M. Wagner.
Delegate Watkins M. Abbitt Jr., who wan unopposed, will return to his seat on the House of Delegates 59th District. Incumbent Robert B. Bell III beat Cynthia Neff to retain his seat on the House of Delegates 58th District.
